About Me
Why wisteria?
My name is Christy Kato- my last name consciously adopted from my grandmother's maiden name. Kato in Japanese stands for the beautiful wisteria plant. This plant yields an incredible juxtaposition of power; it fertilizes the soil beneath it, and simultaneously yields enough strength to tear down trees with its tendrils. I've always seen the Kato women in the same light- loving and compassionate women who bear an immense amount of silent power.

Why witchcraft?
I started my journey as a witch somewhat recently; right before a Beltane (how fitting, right?) After accepting this, I realized how much magic I'd been practicing throughout my life- drawing symbols on my face in foundation as I did my makeup in the morning, writing an intention down on paper before ripping it up and tossing it into the wind. I was raised Christian but realized while my Christian upbringing demanded shame and guilt, witchcraft demands responsibility.

Why a blog?
I'm naturally a very thrifty person- I get a thrill from finding something that was once so loved and used, and giving it a new life. I also love writing and creating. Though I'm still beginning my journey as a witch, I think that helps bring new perspective to things for certain people. When I started my journey, I was overwhelmed and thought there were thousands of things I needed to learn and know in and out. The point of this blog is to show new witches that you don't need a bottomless wallet or a labyrinthine memory to be a witch.
Never Miss a Beat,
